Tubing and Sledding
You don't need to be under the age of 12 to have a blast flying down a hill on a snow tube or specialty sled, or a handful of fresh power and starting a roaring snowball fight. Any number of hills all around Eastern Plumas County become designated and impromptu play areas when the snow gets deep. A favorite snow play area is the Eureka Bowl, formerly known as Plumas Eureka Ski Bowl. This historic facility owned by the Plumas Ski Club is located in Plumas-Eureka State Park in Johnsville.
To get there, from Highway 89 in Graeagle, take Johnsville Road (County Road A-14) about 5 miles. Continue through the village of Johnsville a half mile until the road ends at the ski area parking lot.
